Does Your Business Still Feel Like You?
Recently, one of my clients said something that stopped me in my tracks:
"I got so caught up chasing the money that I forgot why I started this in the first place."
I haven't been able to stop thinking about those words.
Because the truth is, I think a lot of business owners have felt this way at some point.
We start with a dream.
A vision.
A purpose that pulls us so strongly we can't ignore it.
Then the business grows.
Responsibilities pile up.
Problems need solved.
Bills need paid.
And somewhere along the way, we become so focused on running the business that we lose sight of why we started it.
For Years, Yoga Teacher Training Was the Bottleneck
Over the last several years, Yoga Teacher Training has become a huge part of my work.
And truthfully, I love it.
I love building curriculum.
I love creating manuals.
I love taking the ideas living inside someone's head and turning them into a program that can impact people for years to come.
There is something incredibly rewarding about helping a studio owner bring their vision to life.
But what I discovered was this:
The Yoga Teacher Training was rarely the real problem.
It was simply the bottleneck.
Once the training was built, the bigger questions were still there.
How do I grow this?
How do I market it?
What's next?
How do I get unstuck?
How do I reconnect to my purpose?
Those became the conversations.
And honestly, those conversations became my favorite part of the work.
Then My Own Business Started Asking Me Questions
A few months ago, business slowed down slightly.
Nothing dramatic.
Just enough for me to pay attention.
At first, I couldn't figure out why.
I was doing all the same things.
Showing up.
Serving clients.
Creating content.
Nothing had really changed.
Or so I thought.
When I finally stepped back and looked honestly at my business, I realized something.
My website no longer felt like me.
It talked about Yoga Teacher Training.
It ranked well.
It explained my services.
But it wasn't telling the whole story.
It wasn't reflecting the heart of the work.
Because while I absolutely love curriculum development, Inspire TM has never just been about Yoga Teacher Training.
It's always been about helping people:
Clear the clutter.
Reconnect to what matters.
Figure out what comes next.
The Website Wasn't the Problem
The business wasn't the problem either.
I wasn't the problem.
I had simply evolved, and my business hadn't caught up yet.
I think this happens more often than we realize.
We become known for something.
We get good at something.
People start seeking us out for one thing.
And before we know it, we've accidentally built our entire identity around it.
Not because it's wrong.
But because we're growing.
The Real Question
The question isn't:
Is my business successful?
The question is:
Does it still feel like me?
Does it still reflect who I am?
Does it still support the life I'm trying to create?
Does it still feel connected to the reason I started?
And if the answer is no, maybe that doesn't mean something is broken.
Maybe it's simply an invitation to pause long enough to listen.
Because sometimes growth isn't about adding more.
Sometimes it's about reconnecting to what matters.
If This Spoke To You...
You may not need a new website.
You may not need a new offer.
You may not even need a new strategy.
Sometimes you simply need someone to help you see what is already there.
One of my clients recently shared this with me:
"Being a small business owner, you have this dream you're so excited about that it's almost scary how drawn you are to your purpose. Then the doubts creep in. The fear. The situations you never expected. Amy helped me find my courage again. She gave me back my mission."
That is the work.
Whether we're building a Yoga Teacher Training, refining a website, working through a business challenge, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, my goal has always been the same:
Help you clear the clutter.
Reconnect to what matters.
Create space to inspire others.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from your vision, or simply need another set of eyes on what's next, I'd love to help.
