This Year Wasn’t Glamorous, But It Was Real

The Real Side of Running a Yoga Business

Owning a yoga business isn’t always inspiring.
Sometimes it’s messy.
Sometimes it’s sitting on the floor with a laptop, half a cup of cold coffee, and a list of things that didn’t go as planned.

This past year has been all of it—steady moments, scattered days, small wins, and big doubts.
There were times I felt completely aligned and times I questioned everything.
That’s business. That’s teaching. That’s being human.

We don’t talk about it enough.
The days where creativity feels flat.
The launches that don’t fill.
The quiet moments when you wonder if the work is still working.

But then there are the other days.
The moments when something lands.
A conversation reminds you why you started.
A client reaches out to say your work helped them find clarity.
You sit down to write, and it flows again.
You remember—this is what you’re meant to do.

What This Year Taught Me About Growth and Alignment

Running a yoga studio or a teacher training business is a constant practice in balance.
Some seasons are full and flowing. Others are quiet and uncertain.
And that’s okay.

This year taught me that growth doesn’t always look like more—it often looks like clarity.
It’s the ability to say, this stays, that goes, this needs time.
It’s remembering that the work still matters even when you’re not inspired.

This is the real rhythm of running a yoga business.
It’s not constant inspiration. It’s devotion.
Showing up when it’s easy and when it’s not.
Trusting that the quiet seasons still count.

As this year closes, I’m not rushing to set new goals.
I’m looking back at what felt honest, what felt forced, and what I want to keep building.
And honestly? I’m proud.
Not because it was perfect, but because I stayed.

A Grounded Way to Reflect and Plan for 2026

If you’ve been feeling the same way—balancing inspiration and burnout, flow and fatigue—you’re not alone.
This is what real business looks like.

I know many of you are planning your 2026 trainings or reviewing your studio systems right now, so I created something to make that process feel easier and more grounded.

Free 2026 Studio Clarity Worksheet

If you’d like a little structure for your reflection, download the 2026 Studio Clarity Workbook.

It’s a simple set of prompts to help you:

  • Reflect on what felt aligned in 2025

  • Recognize what created friction or fatigue

  • Refocus on what you want your work to stand for in 2026

  • Clarify what support or systems will help you get there

You can download it here: 2026 Studio Clarity Workbook.

This is not about setting resolutions. It’s about reconnecting to what matters most.

Here’s to the real work—the showing up, the rebuilding, and the quiet moments in between.
Here’s to the teachers, leaders, and studio owners doing what they do, every single day.
